In about ten days I'm taking off with my band, Extra Action to rock the east coast, well mostly just NYC, but I can hardly wait to be in the same town with my heros Graffitti Research Labs!
On the bottom of this beautiful sign there is a sticker over another sticker, resulting in "skullfuckmuni.com" I just checked and that URL is currently available. Somebody go get it please.
Sign vinyl is amazing stuff. It comes in many colors and is guaranteed to resist the weather. It's easy to work with and reasonably cheap. Over the years I've used it to make band aids, Halloween costumes, gift wrapping paper, and art projects. The newest signage related tutorial on instructables is all about how to make a wallet from vinyl.
Samsung is working hard to even the telecom playing field for visually impaired. Although still in prototype/concept stage, if the Touch Messenger becomes commercially available, it will allow blind people to send and receive text messages. Awesome!
A great concept, where talk bubbles were mass produced and applied to various signs and ads around NYC. Passersby filled in the messages. Now there's a book with pictures of those bubbles, and blank ones for you to use in your participation.
My buddy Scott was in Seattle this weekend for gnomedex 6.0. At the conference pre-party he spotted these clever restroom signs, along with the instructional signage on how to use a zero gravity toilet. let's hope all the visiting aliens and robots can read English. The party was held at the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, which shares the building with the Experience Music Project.
